I have done all kinds of searches trying to find out what the longest losing streak is for UK. I can't come up with anything but I don't believe we have ever lost more than 3 games in a row. If anyone can find anything let us know. I'm afraid we are about to set the record in a couple of days.

Forget it. I found where Eddie Sutton lost 6 games in a row his final year at UK. I think it was 88-89 year. That was the worst year we had since Rupp was coaching so I figured that would be the year that the record was set. Maybe Cal won't tie or break it this year.

Bama Cat.....if my source is correct:
2009: Four in a row under Billy G. Finished year 22-14.
1990: Five in a row, Pitino's first year. Finished year 14-14.
1989: Six in a row, Sutton's last year. Finished year 13-19. [ 02-13-2018, 07:12 AM: Message edited by: jerseycat ]

This year's Cats could certainly threaten that streak. With road games still left against Auburn and Arkansas and a home game against a very good Alabama team, it could reach 6. I only see them favored in one remaining game and that is Ole Miss.

I agree CSC. We could finish 18-13. Jersy Cat I think that streak under Sutton was 6 in a row which I believe is the worst season since before Rupp.

I never thought a coach cal team would lose 3 games in a row , now we're staring 4-5 in a row.

BamaCat.....you are correct about Sutton's six in a row. Read the stats wrong the first time. Going to correct the error in my post. Thanks.

For everyone's info here are the stats of consecutive losses.
Hall had the most streaks. Lost 4 and 3 in a row twice: 73/74 & 84/85 Lost 3 in a row twice: 72/73 & 78/79
Rupp had 5 streaks. Lost 3 twice in 64/65 & 66/67 Also lost 3 in 60/1
Billy is next. He lost 4 in a row in 07/08 He lost 4 and 3 in 08/09
Pitino Lost 5 in a row in 89/90
Sutton Lost 6 in a rowin 88/89
If we lose 2 more in a row Cal will tie Pitino with 5 in a row. If he also loses to AR he would tie Sutton for the worst losing streak.
