Stats

From KSR:
quote:

When the Cats were struggling to make a basket in the second half, Kentucky went to Kevin Knox out of a timeout and Knox ended a six-minute draught without a field goal. It’s sad, but Kentucky only had two made field goals in the final 10 minutes of the entire game, and both were by Knox. Offense is a real problem.

I knew their offense went south but did not realize they only had two baskets within the last ten minutes of the game.

We held them to 36% from the field and 15% from the 3-point line.

I was at the game, and the second half performance was awful. Drove 5 hours from Georgia to watch, and unfortunately it was not the performance I was hoping for in the second half. Got up by 20 or 22, and then the play just went in the crapper. On offense and defense. The worst defender out there in the 2nd half was Washington. He couldn't keep anyone in front of him. Hope they improve alot in the next two weeks.

Well, we certainly mauled them on the boards, and somehow outscored them, but that is about all.

This team's vaunted length and athleticism certainly has not shown up in most defensive stats, except shooting percentage. We got 3 steals (they got 5) and 2 blocks (they got 5). We forced a paltry 6 turnovers (we gave it up 16 times).

Yep. Lots of work to do. Can't wait for "Camp Cal" over the Christmas break. They need it really, really bad.

When you have a young team every year playing good competition is a awfully good teacher especially early in the schedule.
