John Calipari couldn't remain patient any longer.
He said his Kentucky Wildcats, "got selfish," in the victory against East Tennessee. They're "not great right now," and that's not something Calipari's used to accepting.
So, before some of his players had even taken their shoes off after the 78-61 victory, Calipari came in the locker room with a message.
"I said some stuff – not mean," Calipari said. "Kept it real."
But here's keeping it real: Expect inconsistent performances from Kentucky for the time being because there's nothing Calipari can do to fully address the issues.
Turnovers on offense and foul trouble on defense, simply put, mean these young Wildcats don't always know what they're doing. They weren't supposed to at this point, in mid-November after only four games. But there's work left to do and no time right now on the schedule to do it.
