I agree about the rankings for such a young and inexperienced team.
The good thing is that early rankings don't matter all that much in college baskeball, if you are in a major conference. You just have to get to 20 wins and make a decent showing in your conference tournament and you will get a fairly high ranking in the big tourney.

This team belongs in the 13-16 ranking range.
Another reason why I put no faith in preseason and regular season rankings. It comes down to what you do in March.

We do not deserve a 3 ranking yet but Cal has the players and ability to get them there.

I thought #5 was about right and a good spot for this team. The talent is there. If we can crash the board's and win the turnover battle I think we win. The 7 footer Kansas has scares me to death.
