The lack of a dominant inside player certainly hurt Kentucky most of last season. So how does UK coach John Calipari feel about this year’s frontcourt players compared to last season?
“Isaac (Briscoe) is way better. Bam (Adebayo) hasn’t been on the court enough for me to give you an honest opinion of what I see. Then we have the stretch fours if we want to go that way or big threes,” Calipari said.
Calipari said former UK assistant coach Herb Sendek talked with him recently about zone defenses he uses and Calipari says he could see this team possibly playing some zone.

He says that we could play zone every year, but we never do. Zone would've been nice when Lee or Humphries were in the game. Heck, even Skal may have benefitted from playing zone. If there was ever a year we should've played a lot of zone it was last year. And it didn't happen.

Paul, I agree, if we didn't play a zone last season I doubt we will see it this season.
