John Calipari is currently wrapping up a teleconference to discuss Thursday’s NBA Draft, and, as we expected, he’s talked a lot about Tyler Ulis, whose stock has slipped in recent weeks due to reports of a hip injury. When asked, Calipari said he never saw evidence of the hip injury during Tyler’s time at UK, so, quite simply, he doesn’t buy it.
“Everything that I know, and you watched him all year, did he look like he have a hip injury? There may be something structurally they’re seeing that I don’t know about, but I just can’t believe it,” Cal said. “The kid played every game, 38 minutes per game.”
Calipari is no stranger to hip pain, and quipped that maybe those behind the hip injury reports confused Tyler with him.
“If they want to know about hips, I had both hips replaced. They may be talking about me and not him.”
