Article
quote:
“Kentucky’s pitch was just the NBA thing,” Diallo told the Courier-Journal. “Duke’s pitch was if you come to Duke, you’re going to be set for life. It’s more than just basketball. [John Calipari’s] pitch was he gets guys ready for the next level. Look at the numbers: it shows. It’s the best place for you if you want to make it to the NBA.” quote:
It must be nice, having the resources to take care of their recruits for the rest of their lives. I am happy to see a recruit tell the difference in the recruiting approaches of Duke vs Kentucky such as Diallo did. Hopefully articles like this will get recruits thinking more about their futures in the NBA rather than the Duke promises of care for life. [ 05-10-2016, 09:54 AM: Message edited by: SCWC ]

That's outright dumb to think someone is going to take care of you for the rest of your life for just playing a year for them.

But apparently that is what Coach K is out using as his major recruiting tool. I agree, totally dumb and more of these players that become wise to Coach K and his ways may start reconsidering playing for him at Duke. He truly is a snake in the grass. One can see why Bolden's parents might want him to go to Duke, a promise to have it made forever even if he does not make the NBA, you can't do much better than that. That sales pitch will eventually bite you in the butt though.
