They lost to Brazil in the championship game but Murray can hold his head high as he played his heart out.
Incoming University of Kentucky freshman Jamal Murray scored 12 points and grabbed three rebounds as Canada settled for the silver medal after an 86-71 loss to Brazil in the Pan American Games men's basketball finals on Saturday in Toronto.
Over five games, Murray averaged 16 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists.
Former NBA star Steve Nash, Team Canada's general manager, offered this review of Murray after the win over the United States:
"He's a special, special kid, that's all I can say," Nash told The Calgary Sun. "He's not afraid of the moment, he embraces the moment and that's why he's very, very special.
