Author Topic: Bo Ryan to retire after next year catmandoo Player Member # 1284 posted 06-30-2015 06:00 PM                     He is as good as any game coach in college basketball. Monday's major news in college hoops is simply this: Bo Ryan is likely entering his final season as Wisconsin's coach. Ryan released a statement that revealed he openly debated retiring this past spring, but after discussions with his athletic director, he took some time to think it over. He's opting for one more season on the bench in Madison, and after that, his hope is that the program will do what Syracuse just formally announced: name a current assistant as its coach-in-waiting. Wisconsin announced Monday that Bo Ryan will retire in 2016, and that will pretty much mark the end of an era in college basketball. Ryan may well be the last guy to win big – really big – by building teams like it's still the 1970s. Very little happens in a hurry in Ryan's program, which runs counter to our hurry-up society.
