We have been on him for awhile and wouldn't be surprised if he gets a offer from the Cats.

Alkins dropping a league leading 29.3 points per game at adidas Gauntlet’s first session in Dallas April 10-12.

“I don’t come into a game saying I’m gonna get 40 points,” said Alkins, a junior who averaged 22 points a game at Christ the King (Middle Village, N.Y.) this season. “Everything I get is in the flow of the game. I just take what the defense gives me and it’s been working. I’m more concerned with the win.”

Post-Dallas, Alkins has picked up interest from Duke, Kentucky, Auburn, VCU, Arizona State and Texas. Kentucky’s John Calipari, St. John’s Chris Mullin, Indiana’s Tom Crean and Louisville assistant Kenny Johnson were among the coaches watching the Rens on Saturday morning. UConn coach Kevin Ollie and Maryland’s Mark Turgeon were among the group watching the Rens’ afternoon game.

“It’s been real crazy the way things have picked up,” Alkins said. “But I’ve just gotta keep going hard and taking it to the next level every game. I’m not thinking about Dallas anymore because I’ve gotta go higher than that.”
