Sulimon had started his first two years at Duke and with the freshman class they have, he has been changed to a reserve player. I see a lot of Duke basketball and he did not appear to have an attitude problem. I think Coach K's team are not playing up to his lofty expectations and he is probably making a scapegoat out of this young man.

My take on it is this: Coach K smells blood in the water; he knows his team is overrated and won't make a deep run in March. So, to create an asterisk by this season, he feigns that this player 'wasn't up to Duke standards' and when people look back on this season, he can say "Well, we would have been good, but we had the distraction of this young man".
I put this right up there with his back problems a few years ago.

MH, it was purged. His assistant was 'awarded' the W's and L's that season.
I don't know if K is trying to create a scapegoat. Kids at all programs do stupid stuff, and if you do enough stupid stuff, the coach has to act. I really can't see K doing anything to hurt his chances to win.
