I had my final walk thru Tuesday night at the stadium with my supervisor. This is for the game day activity worker job I will be starting Saturday. I will be working the Recruit Section Security. That will be Section 107, rows 19-42, the top half of the section. Got all the instructions about not letting the recruits and student sections intermingle. Don't want no NCAA violations. No big groups of people wanting autographs. And we're not allowed to ask for autographs either. At least not while the recruit is in section 107. I'm sure there may be someone trying to sneak into the section. Should be a good view of the game being between the 15 &30 yard line at one end. I sort of doubt there will be any big names there for this game but the SEC games should have a pretty full section.

Woohoo! I did the deed! Man it was hot today in Commonwealth. Not just the heat index but the score of the game. I know TN Martin is just a 1AA school but the cats were playing some great ball until the final 10 minutes when Martin scored twice. It was very crowded today. I'd guess maybe 40,000 +. But it started emptying out at halftime and continued into the 4th quarter. Great game.

But the reason I got on here was not the game. I discovered that not only do recruits sit in section 107 but also their coaches and parents. But the lower 18 rows are where the families of current players sit. These are all free tickets.

But to my surprise I also found out that current athletes also sit in section 107. As I was checking tickets and arm bands what to my suprise I looked up at the holder of a gold arm band was none other than dominique Hawkins smiling that normal smile of his. And engrossed on his cell phone with his hat pulled down on his face was Alex Poythress. I seen those two faces and my mind started recalling who they were. Just told him I knew who he was and they got to their seats about 12 feet from where I was working.

Shortly thereafter here comes more familiar faces to sit with them. None other than the Harrisons, Lee and Polson. Shortly thereafter I couldn't believe my eyes but here comes Towns, Booker and Ulis. Damn! I thought we were going to have practice right there in the stands!

They all left at half time with the score 35-0. Couldn't blame them. I saw a games worth of action in 30 minutes. As Karl was leaving I mentioned that 35 points would be a great days work for him and he said he was only interested in W's.

None of them look that imposing in person. even Karl didn't seem to be that large. And little Polson was hard to recognize he seemed so small.

Tony Dorsett was supposed to be there today with his daughter who is in track I believe. It got crowded and I don't know if they were there or not.

I have to miss the next game with Ohio U. because of my family reunion so I won't be back until 27 Sep with the Vandy game. With a little luck we could start out 5-1 if we can handle Ohio, Vandy, SC and LA Monroe.
