G-B, You are so right about Happy Chandler, there have been a lot of tears shed over his singing of "My Old Kentucky Home" over the years. He and coach Rupp probably are the two men that best represent the Kentucky basketball program.

Yes cmd, u are correct, I would have to throw in Mr Wildcat, Cmd Joe B. is the last of a dying Breed of us old Timers like me. I would put Cawood in there too, im so excited waiting on Basketball, and football, as Cawood used to say every year when the last basketball game was played, he would say I will see u when the snow Flies again. that meant the season was close. I dearly Love my Kentucky Wildcats.

Cmd all our coaches Have been great ambassadors for Ky except BCG. and imo hiring him Is on Barnhart, he could have had Cal when he hired Gillispie. Barnhart never liked Cal , Mike Pratt and the Board got Cal hired, without Barnharts Blessings. My biggest question was at the time why fire Tubby and hire Bcg. all Gilleispie ever done was beat Louisville. in Rupp in the tourney.jmo. not tring to be contraversional. mods take this post down if u think I am, .

GreenBean, I read some of your posts and it's almost like talking to myself. You are a true blue blood and a great addition to this forum. I always felt Joe B Hall had the toughest job in basketball when he took over for Rupp and he had some hiccups during his tenure but he was a great ambassador and coach for Kentucky basketball.

scwc, I love joe b. hall he had the hardest job ever, trying to replace coach Rupp, But right now Joe b. is the last of the dying breed at ky. Love Joe. I was feeling all melencoly today when I wrote this, its been over 50 years since I have went a day without wearing something UK, on it even when I was in the hospital a few months back, for a gall bladder attack.please excuse my terrible spelling, used to spell good back in the day, but them days are behind me. but im pushing for number 9. Thank you scwc, for the kind words, you are a true blood too, we could share a lot of good stories over a ice cold tea, or Root Beer.
