You can make cases for all the players but the stats never lie.

With another day before the Kentucky basketball team returns to action for the final three games of its Big Blue Bahamas Tour, lets take a data dive into the individual stats from the first three games.

We should note right off the top that we’ve sensed a level of skepticism from those actually in the Bahamas concerning the accuracy of the stat crew at the Atlantis.

A standout stat is that with the two-platoon system used by John Calipari, no player has played more than 22 minutes. In fact, all of Calipari’s 10 regulars have played 18 to 22 minutes in each game so far. Almost all, anway. Derek Willis played 16 minutes in the irst game against Puerto Rico.

Alex Poythress has been a model of consistency to this point. The junior has scored in double-figures in all three games. He turned in a double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in just 19 minutes on Tuesday. He just missed a double-double on Monday, scoring 16 points and grabbing eight boards.

While Poythress has scored 41 points on the tour, freshman Karl Towns is right behind that with 39. Towns has made 15 o 26 shots and produced a double-double Monday with 19 points and 10 rebounds in 21 minutes. Towns also has five assists in the three games.

Aaron Harrison has picked up where he left off from last year’s NCAA Tournament in terms of shooting, especially from behind the arc. Harrison has taken nine three-pointers and buried four. He has made 12 of 18 shots overall.

Andrew Harrison has 15 assists in the three games, compared to five turnovers. Andrew was five-of-five from the free throw line in the first two games before missing two of his three free throws in the third game.

Tyler Ulis, the (maybe) 5-foot-8 freshman, has made three of his five three-point attempts. Ulis has 12 assists and seven turnovers in the three games. He is also tied with Dominique Hawkins for the team lead in steals with four. Booker leads team with seven steals. Aaron Harrison has six.

Dakari Johnson has 24 points and 15 rebounds in the three games. The sophomore center has made 10 of his 16 shots. He had three turnovers in Game 2 but bounced back with a clean Game 3.

Marcus Lee had 14 points, seven rebounds and made six of seven shots in the Tuesday game against Puerto Rico. The sophomore has made 13 of 18 shots on the trip so far. He also has 16 rebounds in 60 minutes on the floor.

Freshman Devin Booker, who arrived at UK with the reputation of being a dead-eye shooter, has made just four of 17 shots. Booker is just two-of-six from three-point range. As we’ve noted several times, however, Booker shot the ball much better than that during practices open to the media before the Bahamas trip.

Willis has really hit the glass in the Bahamas. The sophomore has 13 rebounds in the three games. He had nine points and six rebounds on Tuesday.

Most all the players are playing well except for "maybe" Booker but would bet he will turn it on real soon.

I have not been that impressed with Booker thus far. He may turn out to be a good three point shooter for us but I am suprised he is playing with what I would consider our starting unit. I hope they mix up some of the two rotating fives today so we can see someone else play that position. I would like to see him mix Towns in with that first unit in place of Booker and have Poythress play the three position. This is the place and time to be experimenting with more than just substituting five for five every four minutes.
