It's only a few weeks away to see just how good this team is going to be. What I like about these games is that they will have plenty of minutes to see how all these new and returning players are going to play with each other. The talent is there they just need this time to learn to play together and when they come together they will be awesome. Last years team was awfully talented too but it took the whole season before they realized just how good they were. They had to be the best double digit loss team in Kentucky history.

Kentucky basketball team’s summer trip to the Bahamas. From Aug. 10-17, the Wildcats will play two games apiece against the Dominican Republic National Team, the Puerto Rico National Team reserves and a French first-division club team, Champagne Chalons-Reims Basket.

The 2014-2015 Cats will have a dramatically different bonding experience than last year’s team, which struggled out of the gate despite immense talent. That team waited until late August for twins Andrew and Aaron Harrison and James Young — all three of them starters — to enroll and join the others.

This year, all four incoming McDonald’s All-America freshmen are already on campus and now, thanks to an NCAA rule that allows a summer international trip once every four years, they’ll have multiple practices and high-level games under their belt before most college teams even begin preseason workouts.

“It’s going to make us much better, because (for) team chemistry you definitely need that,” sophomore guard Dominique Hawkins said. “We all need ot know how each other plays with the new freshmen coming in, too. It’s definitely going to help them out (for us) to get to know them and let them know us.
