Robert Dillingham will play for Kentucky. The 5-star point guard announced his commitment to John Calipari’s program on Friday.
Dillingham, out of Simi Valley, California, plays for Kanye West’s Donda Academy. He is the 247Sports Composite’s No. 7 overall player in the class of 2023. Dillingham had 21 scholarship offers, including Auburn, Florida, LSU, Ole Miss and Tennessee.
Dillingham gives Kentucky a pair of Composite 5-star commitments for 2023, joining combo guard Reed Sheppard who pledged on Nov. 20, 2021.

DJ Wagner signed with Kentucky yesterday giving them the number one recruiting class for next year. Four of the top ten players commit to UK along with Reed Sheppard.

I have the feeling Sheppard may live to regret his decision to attend UK.

rlt4uk, I hope you’re right. There may be a plethora of guard talent on that team and you know Cal has a propensity to play a 7 or 8 man rotation.
Plethora - propensity are words I learned from Tip. Sure hope I used them right or I’m going to look like a fool.

I think Reeds blood line and his work ethic will earn him a torrent of playing time. 🤓

I don't really care any more about the top recruiting class. It's nice to get that top talent, but I just want to get a team in here that can win us #9. The question is do we have the right mix of talent to win it all. I sure hope so.

We need good coaching that can get the best out of the young talented recruits we get most every season.

Don't look now, but I think we have the wrong coach to do that. But if he can dedicate so much PT to Ware then surely he'll do the same for Sheppard.

You're right Bama. And this isn't new for me. I have never thought highly of Cals coaching. And if you watched the whole 2012 season you would see that those guys won in spite of the poor coaching. And only the coaching was gonna keep us from winning in 2015. He gets the talent though, he just can't get the best out of them. Hope he proves me wrong this year.

Someone please explain to me why we can't defend an inbounds play under the basket.

I ask the other side of that question...why can't we run an out of bounds play that other teams can't defend. That lazy lob to the tall guy in the corner, well, it is a symptom of the disease that is Calipari basketball.

Great call Catfan. The funny thing is I have a coaching book from over 20 years ago that has some inbound plays from Cal, among other coaches. Maybe I should send it to him.
