That describes Kentucky's play last night. Our bigs were relentless rebounders, our perimter players played aggressively on both ends of the floor, and we played remarkably loose.
I was particularly impressed by the sudden change in our guards' ability to contain LSU's quicker guards on the dribble. Kudos to the Harrisons, and even Young did a better job than usual. That made all the difference. Our defense across the board was three steps up from the norm.
Offensively, we had great spacing, much better shooting, and amazing offensive rebounding. Andrew played a fantastic game, distributing the ball efficiently and scoring as necessary. We only had nine turnovers... a significant improvement!
Keep it going, Cats. Now you know you are capable of shooting for the stars!

I notice on fast break steals that they passed off to the trailing player also which they never do.

They played more as a team than a group of individuals last night. Andrew Harrison actually had 8 assists and the team had 15 assists which is great for this group. Better defense all around and Andrew Harrison did a great job holding Hickey to 3 points for the night.

It was a much different team than we have seen for a long time. If they continue their good play no telling how far they could go.

Another thing -- we basically threw out the dribble-drive, and went with a basic half-court inside-out set. And it worked very, very well. That is why we racked up so many assists, and cut down so dramatically on turnovers. It is also why our bigs were so much more effective, and our 3-point shooting was such a factor.
We still use that odd 'put Poythress on the short corner and...'. Not sure what the 'and' is, but Cal sure likes that.
Overall, we played much better offensively than we had all season long. And, defensively, our guards stayed in front of their guards. What a difference that makes!

Isn't amazing how good the offense is when they play solid defense?

Cal had said after the FL game that his favorite play of that game was when a FL guard on a fast break passed off to the trailer for an easy bucket. It was great to see US doing that last night.

We did a lot of the same things today which is a big positive. We play like the way we have the last 2 games and we have a good chance to beat Billy's boys.
